Marcin Koszowy jest filozofem prowadzącym badania z zakresu logiki, filozofii języka, pragmatyki i sztucznej inteligencji. Jako członek Computational Ethos Lab (CELab) należącego do Międzynarodowego Centrum Ontologii Formalnej (ICFO) działającego przy Wydziale, zajmuje się badaniem argumentacyjnych i dialogowych odwołań do autorytetu i opinii eksperta, schematami argumentacyjnymi oraz analizą korpusową tekstów argumentacyjnych na potrzeby zautomatyzowanego wydobywania struktur argumentacyjnych z tekstów języka naturalnego (argument mining). Opublikował 2 książki i ponad 30 recenzowanych artykułów, w tym prac w takich czasopismach jak: Argumentation, Logic and Logical Philosophy, Pragmatics and Society, AI & Societyi International Review of Pragmatics, współredagował 10 numerów czasopism (w tym specjalny numer czasopisma Argumentation pt. „The Polish School of Argumentation”, uczestniczył w 2 projektach badawczych finansowanych przez Narodowe Centrum Nauki oraz wygłosił 15 zaproszonych wykładów. Jest również członkiem komitetu koordynującego inicjatywę European Conference on Argumentation (ECA) oraz Stowarzyszenia ArgDiaP koordynującego działalność polskiego środowiska naukowego w zakresie badań nad argumentacją, dialogiem i perswazją.

Wykształcenie

  • 2008: doktor nauk humanistycznych w zakresie filozofii, Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski Jana Pawła II, Wydział Filozofii. Tytuł rozprawy doktorskiej: Współczesne koncepcje błędu logicznego: studium z teorii argumentacji i logiki pragmatycznej.
  • 2002: Podyplomowe Uzupełniające Studia Pedagogiczne, Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski, Wydział Nauk Społecznych, Instytut Pedagogiki.
